Nationality courses
Article 28 of the Law of 8 march 2017

1. 5 years in Luxembourg: “Sproochentest” at the INLL: Moien asbl helps you to prepare for this exam.

2. 20 years in Luxembourg: The Certificate of Participation (70%) in a Moien asbl course entitles you to obtain Luxembourg nationality.

Detailed explanations:

1. If you have been living in Luxembourg for 5 years, you must take the “Sproochentest” to obtain the certificate of naturalisation.
In order to obtain the “Sproochentest”, you must have at least an A2 level in oral expression and a B1 level in oral comprehension.
To prepare for the “Sproochentest”, you can take courses at Moien asbl.

The test takes place only at the National Institute for Languages Luxembourg (INLL). For more information, please refer to the INLL website: http://www.inll.lu.

2. People who have been living in the Grand Duchy for at least 20 years and who wish to obtain Luxembourgish nationality can follow one of the Luxembourgish courses at Moien asbl.

In this case you can register for a course published on our website www.moienasbl.lu.

These courses are approved by the Service de la formation des adultes (SFA) of the Ministère de l’Education nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse (MEN). In order to obtain the Certificate issued by the Ministry, 70% participation in the sessions is required.

Registration and payment is only possible online at https://moienasbl.lu.

People with no basic knowledge of Luxembourgish register for level A.1.1.
People with some knowledge of Luxembourgish can register for a level adapted to their knowledge
